House Rules

Last Update:

v 1.3 (July 22 2022)

GENERAL SPORTS RULES POLICY

Settlement of our listed Outcomes are governed by the following conditions, except where the rules relating to a particular sport or Outcome provide otherwise. Where there is a conflict between the following conditions and a particular individual sports rule, the individual sports rule shall prevail.

1. Sports Betting House Rules

1.1. These Sporttrade Betting Rules (“House Rules”), together with Sporttrade’s Terms and Conditions, (“Terms and Conditions”) are applicable to all wagering/trading activity on Sporttrade. By accessing Sporttrade (as defined in the Terms of Conditions), you acknowledge reading, understanding, and accepting these House Rules, including Section 1 (Sports Betting House Rules) and Section 2 (Sports Specific Rules). These House Rules are subject to change at any time in Sporttrade’s sole discretion, subject to any required regulatory approvals, and shall be immediately in effect and binding on you. Sporttrade’s final determination as to the interpretation and application of the House Rules and the Events, Outcomes, prices, Outcome settlements, and commissions is binding on you.

1.2 Only eligible individuals 21 years of age or older, not excluded, and located in the State of New Jersey may place an order.

1.3 Individuals may not act as an agent or proxy to place orders on behalf of another.

2. Orders

2.1. Sporttrade accepts orders on its posted terms unless otherwise posted or noted on printed media.

2.2. Sporttrade reserves the right to suspend or close trading on any Outcome at any time (notwithstanding any parts of the House Rules) and may backout trades in a Outcome or void an Outcome, subject to restrictions on voiding wagers as may be set by the applicable regulatory authorities of the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (“NJ DGE”).

2.3. Sporttrade reserves the right to reject any order at any time.

2.4. Sporttrade reserves the right to determine minimum and maximum individual order sizes on all Outcomes, including, but not limited to, on an order by order or customer by customer basis.

2.5. Orders placed by customers on Outcomes which are In-Play may be subject to a delay at Sporttrade’s discretion.

2.8. An Outcome resulting in a “push” (meaning the Outcome has neither occurred nor not occured) will be declared “no action” and refunded unless the Outcome under which the Outcome is listed also includes a “Draw”, “Tie” or equivalent Outcome, in which case the “Draw”, “Tie” or equivalent Outcome will settle at $100 and the other Outcomes in the Outcome will settle at $0.

2.9. Outcomes listed on Events that have either not started or have not met the minimum length for an Event to be official, will result in the Outcome being voided. When an Outcome is voided, the customer’s unfilled resting orders will be canceled, her position risk will be refunded, her commissions incurred will be refunded, and her closed profit/loss on the Outcome will be reversed. For the avoidance of doubt, when an Outcome is voided, any customer who has placed at least one order on the Outcome will have her available funds reset as if she had never placed any orders on the Outcome.

2.10. Prohibitions exist that restrict the acceptance of wagers; No person shall make any unauthorized wager or conduct any sports betting activity on its premises or through any online or electronic means unless in accordance with the act, the Rules and Regulations promulgated by the NJ DGE, or the laws and regulations governing other betting activities which are licensed or approved by an agency of the State of New Jersey.

2.12. Sporttrade reserves the right to restrict, suspend, limit, or otherwise revise the availability of a promotion on a customer by customer basis.

2.13  During the order placement process, if the price at which the customer is placing her order changes by virtue of the Outcome price changing, the customer will be clearly notified on the user interface.

2.14. You accept responsibility for managing the selection and placement of your orders

2.15 For orders placed and resting on the Order Book, customers have the responsibility to monitor those orders. Customer orders may be fully or partially filled before a customer can cancel them.

3.1.2. Subject to applicable regulatory restrictions, you may make deposits to your Account using the following methods: All funding methods are subject to Sporttrade Anti-money laundering (AML) policy and procedures and will be subject to all federal currency transaction reporting thresholds. Regulations may restrict the availability of certain portions of the funds in your Account for wagering. Funds, as used in this section, shall mean cash and cash equivalent, free wagers, bonuses, and other credits available to be used for wagering purposes.

3.1.5. For more information on deposits and funding of your Account, please refer to the Terms of Use Agreement.

    3.2. Payouts

3.2.1. Payouts on wagers are made according to the terms, conditions, rules, policies, or other agreements of or with Sporttrade. All final decisions on payouts are made by Sporttrade.

Payouts can come in three forms; 1) A Member can receive a payout when de-risking on an Outcome or Market

2) A Member can receive a payout when her open Position settles for a profit when the Outcome settles

3) A Member can receive a payout when Sporttrade releases some or all of her previously-restricted funds, which can happen in two ways;

  1. The Member can de-risk on an Outcome or Market for a loss where the Member previously had an Unsettled Profit of over the available profits threshold of $1,000. In this instance, the Member will receive a payout equal to the delta of previous restricted funds amount minus the new restricted funds amount.

  2. An Outcome where the Member previously had an Unsettled Profit of over the available profits threshold of $1,000 settles.  In this instance, the Member will receive a payout equal to the  previous restricted funds amount.

Members are encouraged to visit their “Activity Ledger”, which can be found under “Account”, which will contain a chronological list of all payouts to the Member from Sporttrade.

3.2.2. Final calculations rounded to the nearest cent.

6. Promotional and Boosted Enhanced Price Wagers

6.2. Sporttrade reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to backout any trade.

7. In-Play Trading

7.1. In-play trading allows for the placing of orders and reception of executions during an ongoing Event. Sporttrade may partially or fully suspend trading on an Outcome that is in-play at any time and impose a delay on any or all orders, including, but not limited to, timing, placement, or acceptance delays. Sporttrade reserves the right to backout any part of any or all trades on in-play Events that are not completed, subject to approval from the NJDGE.

7.2. You acknowledge and understand that there may be timing issues with respect to the broadcast of sports Events, including differences in timing between the live Event and the broadcast of such live Event, and the timing and availability of the in-play Outcome may affect the offering, placement, and acceptance of wagers on in-play Outcomes, including, but not limited to, extended time for accepting and processing an in-play wager. If an in-play Outcome does not suspend or close at the applicable scheduled closure time or if no scheduled Outcomes close, then as determined by Sporttrade, all orders received or trades made after the applicable intended closure time can be canceled/backed out at Sporttrade’s discretion. Any trade made after the Outcome has been deemed to occur, or not occur or otherwise already determined will be backed out.

7.3. You acknowledge, understand and agree that (i) you may not be able to see or otherwise receive current or recent information or data with respect to Outcomes, which may be a result of, among other things, Internet and network connectivity, the capabilities of hardware and devices, delays in coverage, information or data, human, software and/or system errors, bugs or defects, conflicts or failures of any software or system to operate in accordance with the rules of the relevant Outcome, order, trade, product or service or communication, timing or display errors; and (ii) Sporttrade shall not be liable for any inability to have current or recent information or data, regardless of the reason for such inability.

7.4 In an effort to protect customers from placing orders in Outcomes with wide and/or illiquid pricing, Sporttrade may at times, at its discretion, disallow a customer from placing a “Market Buy” or “Market Sell” order. You acknowledge that the user experience of placing an order may be interrupted by a “Volatile Outcome” message, or equivalent, and that during any period at which Sporttrade, at its discretion, deems an Outcome to be in a “Volatile Outcome” state, you may not place a Market Buy or Market Sell order.

8. Proposition Wagers

8.1. Proposition Wagers Subject to New Jersey’s prohibited bets policy; see Section 17.

8.1.1. If a governing body of a league rules that a team/individual must forfeit a game/Event due to any circumstances, in advance of the game/Event being started and/or completed on the field of play; all Outcomes directly tied to that Event will be voided.

8.1.2. If a governing body of a league rules that a team/individual must forfeit a game/Event due to any circumstances, in advance of the game/Event being started and/or completed on the field of play; all Season long Team and player statistical props and Outcomes related to that game/Event shall be eligible for settlement. For example: The win and loss of the forfeited game will count, the player and team statistical total(s) Outcomes will be eligible for settlement.

8.2. Proposition Outcomes in respect of a team or a player's performance in a single game or Event, or for a specified time period within a single game or Event, will be voided if the game or Event is not completed within the timeframe and on the basis set out in the Sport Specific Rules for such game or Event, or if the specified time period is not completed, as applicable, unless otherwise specified, or unless the Outcome has been deemed to have been determined. For example, if “Bryce Harper Over 0.5 Home Runs” is a listed Outcome in the “Philadelphia Phillies at St. Louis Cardinals” Event, and Bryce Harper hits a home run in the 3rd inning, and the game is rained out in the 4th inning, the “Bryce Harper Over 0.5 Home Runs” Outcome will have already been determined to have occured, and will have Settled at $100.

8.3 Proposition Outcomes in respect of a player in this Section 8.1 will be voided if the applicable player does not participate in the applicable game or Event. Subject to any Sport Specific Rules, a player is deemed to have participated in a game or Event if said player sees game action during the game or the specified time period applicable to the proposition Outcome, as applicable.

8.4 Proposition Outcomes in respect to a team or a player's performance over a specified number of games or Events, or over an entire season will be voided if the original schedule of games or Events is not completed, unless otherwise specified, regardless of the status of the wagered Outcome

8.5 Proposition Outcomes in respect a team or a player's performance over a series of games or Events (e.g., a best-of-7 series) will be declared “no action” and refunded if the nature of the series is changed (e.g., a series that is originally scheduled to be best-of-7 is changed to best-of-5 or best-of-3), regardless of the status of the wagered Outcome, unless the Outcome has been determined to occur, or not occur prior.

8.6 Subject to Sections 8.3. and 8.4, proposition Outcomes in this Section will be eligible for settlement regardless of the failure of any player and/or team to compete for any reason, including but not limited to coaching discretion, injury, illness, change in contractual status, trade, load management, failure to qualify, suspension, sanction, incarceration, or disciplinary action(s) levied against a player or team.

9. Futures Outcomes

9.1. Futures Outcomes, including but not limited to Team to Qualify for Playoffs, Divisional Winner, Conference Winner, League Championship Winner will be settled based on the applicable league’s or the sport’s governing body’s determination of such result, as applicable. If no winner is declared by the league or the sport’s governing body, then the Outcomes will be voided, unless the Outcome has been determined to occur, or not occur prior. Notwithstanding the foregoing, any subsequent vacancy of a title will not be recognized, and Outcomes will not be resettled.

9.2. For futures Outcomes where participants are declared a tie, the Dead Heat rules apply.

9.3. Subject to any Sport Specific Rules set out below, futures Outcomes will be eligible for settlement regardless of any change in schedule or season length, game or Event cancellation, game or Event relocation, team relocation, and/or the failure of any player and/or team to compete for any reason, including but not limited to coaching discretion, injury, illness, change in contractual status, trade, load management, failure to qualify, suspension, sanction, incarceration, or disciplinary action(s) levied against a player or team.

9.4. Certain teams or participants may not be offered as a listed Outcome due to regulatory requirements. If such a team or participant is the winner of the game or Event, then all listed Outcomes on the game or Event will settle at $0.

10. Results and Settlement

10.1. An Outcome will be settled on the date of the Event's or the Outcome's conclusion and in the time zone in which the Event takes place.

10.2. Except as set forth elsewhere in these House Rules, Outcomes may be settled based on the results provided by the applicable sport’s governing body, third party media or data providers and/or public information at the time of the conclusion of the Event or Outcome.

10.3. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Sporttrade may result and settle an Outcome prior to the completion of said Event or Outcome, including, but not limited to, by settling some, but not all, Outcomes in a Market. An example would be a “To Win” Market in a golf Event. Outcomes listed on players who have missed the cut may be settled at $0 before the end of the Event.

10.4. Sporttrade reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to void any Outcome  if the Outcome result cannot be determined to Sporttrade satisfaction.

10.5. Sporttrade does not recognize suspended games, protests, scoring changes, abandoned, canceled, or postponed Events and Outcomes and overturned decisions and does not regrade or resettle Events or Outcomes as a result of any of the foregoing.

10.6. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, Sporttrade reserves the right to determine and/or amend the settlement of any Outcome, in order to, among other things, resolve a scenario where sources of Event data provide differing results, to correct any error caused by incorrect Event or Outcome data or to correct an error in the resulting or settlement process.

10.7. You expressly acknowledge and agree that the determination of Sporttrade with respect to any results and settlement of an Outcome are final, determinative and binding and Sporttrade may revise account balances to reflect changes based on the determined results and settlement.

10.8. If there is an outage to the app or it is temporarily down, open positions will remain open until settlement and limit orders set prior to the outage will be honored and executed if applicable.

11. Change of Venue

11.1. Subject to the Sport Specific Rules, a change in venue shall be addressed as follows:

11.1.1. For Outcomes listed for a team sport: if the scheduled venue is changed after an Outcome is listed, but before the Outcome is “In-Play”, the Outcome will be voided.

11.1.2. For Outcomes listed for a team sport: if the scheduled venue is changed after an Outcome is “In-Play”, the Outcome will NOT be voided, and will be eligible for settlement.

11.1.3. For Outcomes listed on things not including a team sport: if the scheduled venue is changed after an Outcome is listed, the Outcome will NOT be voided, and will be eligible for settlement.

12. Dead Heats

12.1. Dead heat rules apply when there are two or more Outcomes in a Market that result in a tie.

12.1.1. If a dead heat exists to win an outright Outcome, the Outcome settlement price will be calculated by dividing (A) $100, the maximum settlement price of an Outcome, by (B) the total number of Outcomes in the Market which have been determined to be “dead heat finishers”.

12.1.2. If a dead heat exists in a “To Finish in the Top ‘X’” Market, the Outcome settlement price if the sum of the number of dead heat finishers and the finishers who placed ahead of such dead heat finishers (if any) exceeds ‘X’ will be calculated by multiplying (A) $100, the maximum settlement price of an Outcome, with the (B); the quotient of (i) the available spots for dead heat finishers in the Top ‘X’ (i.e. ‘X’ minus the number of finishers who placed ahead of such dead heat finishers (if any)) divided by (ii) the number of dead heat finishers.

12.1.2.1. By way of example, suppose a customer had a position of +5 Contracts on the “Tiger Woods to Finish in the Top 5” Outcome. Suppose further that Tiger Woods and 3 other golfers tie for fourth place. The “Tiger Woods to Finish in the Top 5” Outcome would payout at $100 multiplied by (2 divided by 4) = $50 per contract. The customer’s payout would be $250, (not including any commission).

13. Pricing, Odds, Sports Data and Other Information

13.1. All Events, Markets, Outcomes, prices, sports data, commissions, and payouts are displayed within the System, including the App.

13.4. Gaming system products and services, including user interfaces, display information and data related to Events, Markets, Outcomes, prices, commissions, sports data, and payouts prior to and at the time when you place an order, and any information or data may change at any time prior to and up to the time you attempt to place an order. You are responsible for understanding all Events, Markets, Outcomes, prices, sports data, commissions, and payouts, and the information and data related to each of the foregoing, prior to and at the time you are placing an order and agree that Sporttrade’s final determination as to the interpretation and application of these House Rules and the Events, Markets, Outcomes, prices, sports data, commissions and payouts, and the information and data related to each of the foregoing, is binding on you.

14.5. Trades on Outcomes where the Outcome is known are impermissible. You acknowledge and agree that you will not place any orders if the Outcome is known and that any such order or resulting trade may be backed out by Sporttrade in its sole discretion.

15.2.7. Where Outcomes are listed and/or settled for an Event that does not exist.

15.3. Sporttrade reserves the right to correct any obvious error with respect to a trade executed, and to settle such underlying Outcome at the correct price and/or terms applicable to such Outcome (absent the obvious error) at the time the trade was made, subject to applicable regulatory requirements.

15.4. If obvious errors occur, you acknowledge, understand, and agree that Sporttrade reserves the right to take corrective action to resolve any such obvious errors, including, but not limited to, canceling, voiding, or refunding of any trades or winnings and crediting or debiting of your account to resolve the errors, subject to compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. Proposition bets:

  • In the Event of an abandoned game, all Outcomes will be voided except those where the Outcome has already been determined.

  • For player prop Outcomes, any Outcomes listed on a player who is listed as “inactive” on nfl.com will be voided.

Futures/Season Prop Bets:

  • Outcomes will be settled based on official results provided by the league. For Outcomes to settle, the number of games deemed to be officially deemed completed must equal the number of games scheduled when the season begins, unless the Outcome has already been unequivocally determined, or unless otherwise stated in the Market and/or Outcome name. Any forfeited game that is considered an official result will count towards season long Outcomes.

  • For season long player prop Outcomes, the nominated player must participate on the field, court, course of play, or the like in at least one game during the regular season for Outcomes to be settled.

  • For the purposes of regular season win total Outcomes, if the listed total of wins is exactly equal to the observed number of wins, the listed Outcome will be voided.

NFL Draft

  • The official draft list on nfl.com is used for settlement purposes.

  • For “over/under draft position” Outcomes, undrafted players are assigned the draft position that comes after the last drafted player.

  • For over/under draft position Outcomes under means the player is chosen with a pick that is less than the designated number and over would be after that designated number, for example a Outcome of ‘Player A over/under draft position 3.5’, if Player A is picked with the second pick of the Draft than “under” Outcomes would settle at $100 and “over” Outcomes would settle at $0.

Quarter and half Outcomes/Outcomes:

  • For listed Outcomes based on the specific quarters or halves, the entire period of play must be played unless the result is already determined, except second half Outcomes which do include overtime if played.

  • The fourth quarter does not include overtime.

Point Spread (Handicap) Betting:

  • Overtime counts for the purpose of determining whether a listed Outcome has occurred

  • Overtime does not count on fourth quarter specific Outcomes.

  • In the Event of a tie, Outcomes will be voided. In the event of a tie after overtime, all “To Win” Outcomes will be voided. Any Event that has already been determined will be settled accordingly. For example, if a game finishes 28-28, total points will be deemed to be at 56.

  • For quarter and half betting, the entire period must be played for outcomes to be eligible for settlement.

Total points

  • Overtime counts for all total match / team total and prop points Outcomes.

  • Overtime does not count for total points on fourth quarter specific Outcomes.

  • In the event of total points being exactly the nominated line, all Outcomes will be voided unless there exists a listed Outcome under the same Market with exact amount of total points which has been deemed to occur.

  • For quarter and half betting, the entire period must be played for Outcomes to be settled

First turnover and first team to commit a turnover:

  • For Outcome settlement purposes, only an interception or a fumble counts.

  • A punt or 'turnover on downs' does not qualify as a turnover for settlement purposes.

  • In the Event of an abandoned game, Outcomes will be voided unless a turnover has already taken place.

First team/last team to score and first touchdown scorer:

  • In the Event of an abandoned game, Outcomes listed on scores that have taken place will be settled. All other Outcomes will be voided.

  • Overtime counts for these Outcomes.

  • Only when a player is listed on NFL.com as 'inactive' for that match are the Outcomes voided.

  • For touchdown scorer Outcomes, the Outcome that will settle at $100 is the Outcome based on the player who possesses the ball in the endzone. For example - on a pass TD play, the Outcome of the receiver in the endzone is settled at $100 not the QB Outcome.

  • Overtime - For the purposes of individual matches and groups of games, overtime shall count for total points Outcomes, spreads Outcomes Outcomes involving other statistics unless otherwise stated.

Statistics - based Outcomes involving long-term individual performances or team records and certain short-term Outcomes will be settled on the definitive statistics of the governing body (e.g. NFL) in line with their rules or as otherwise stipulated at the outset by Sporttrade.

Suspended Games - If a game is suspended at any stage, all Outcomes based on the individual statistics of players shall be voided unless such Outcomes have already been determined.

Player Performance or Player Stat Outcomes - Where an Outcome is based on the performance of a player or group of players in an NFL match, or in Outcomes that are based on aggregate yards featuring passing/rushing/receiving yardage, touchdowns, turnovers, or other events, the player or all players in the Outcome must enter the field of play for Outcomes to be eligible for settlement unless otherwise stated.

All Outcomes on a postponed match will be treated as void if the Event has been moved to more than 48 hours in the future, except for Outcomes which have already been determined.

  • All settlements of Outcomes are based on the results and statistics provided by the MLB

  • Should a game not start on the day of the officially listed start time, as stated by the MLB, due to a rain delay or other similar Events, all Outcomes will be voided. The day of the event will be considered the day according to the time zone in which the game was scheduled to be played

  • In the Event of a shortened game, results for game winner Outcomes are official after 5 innings of play, or 4.5 innings should the home team be leading coming to bat in the bottom of the 5th (the 4.5 Innings Rule.) Should a game be called, the Outcome that shall be settled at $100 is determined by the score after the last full inning completed (unless the home team score to tie, or take the lead in the bottom half of the inning, in which the Outcome that shall be settled at $100 is determined by the score at the time the game is suspended)

  • All non- “To Win” Outcomes, unless otherwise stated, and except for Outcomes which have been unconditionally determined,  require a minimum of 9 innings play for bets to stand (8.5 innings should the home team be ahead); the 8.5 Innings Rule

    • For the purposes of clarity, if 8 runs have been scored by the 3rd inning, and the game is rained out in the 4th inning, the “Over 7.5 Runs” Outcome will have been settled at $100 because that Outcome will have been unconditionally determined.

  • For MLB 7-inning doubleheaders, all Outcomes will stand if 7 innings are played (6.5 innings should the home team be ahead) and will be settled based on the results and statistics provided by the MLB.

  • Unless otherwise stated additional innings, where applicable, count for settlement purposes

  • Sporttrade reserves the right to halt trading on any MLB Outcome at any time during or before any MLB game, including before and during rain delays.

  • Sporttrade reserves the right to restrict all of a customer’s profit derived from trading on unsettled MLB Outcomes.

  • If a regular season game is suspended and does not reach its conclusion by 4a local time two calendar days after the day that the game commenced, then all unsettled Outcomes  will be voided.

  • For all MLB games, Outcomes will not be void in the event that one or both teams changes their listed pitcher for the game. Our discussion around procedures surrounding weather delays and postponements:

  • If a game has started but is not official (Under 4.5 innings home team tied or down), all Outcomes may remain un-halted until the game is either resumed or scheduled to continue the next day. In the event that the game is scheduled to continue the next day, Sporttrade will halt trading in the Outcome
